about me.

Yo... glad to see you here.

But who is banskt?

My name is Saikat Banerjee. My friends call me banskt, and that's where the name bansktdesigns come from. I have an obsession with smart and simple designs. I wear a pair of nerdy glasses, and I enjoy creating awesome websites, logos and print materials. That quite sums it up.

I was born in the small town of Baidyabati near Kolkata, India in the month of September, 1985. I had a good academic record throughout, and presently, I am a graduate (Ph.D) student at IISc. Sometimes, I myself wonder how I became a graphic designer !!! Well, I had a training of fine arts for eight years, Then I started learning graphic designing. After years of hard work, I learnt the tools of the trade. I started doing freelance work from 2008, to be more specific, March 2008.

I love having a versatile and wide range of capabilities because it keeps me motivated and interested in different ways of approaching design. With every new project, I like to improve and develop my skills and abilities.

Fun facts

I love music and football, A.R. Rahman and Mohunbagan. I love the coffee board and Jack Daniels. I love my research work, and my cosy little hostel room. I am also a movie buff, and I love watching foreign films, esp. film noir, classics and drama. Every Saturday night, I enjoy partying with my friends.

People ignore design that ignores people.

My Skills

Innovative concepts and implementations makes one designer different from others. However, softwares/languages are tools of the trade and one needs to have those skills to be succesful in the implementation. Here's how I will rate my expertise in the different softwares/languages.

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • XHTML / CSS
  • PHP
  • Javascript (jQuery)
  • Wordpress
  • Adobe Indesign
  • Adobe Flash
  • Microsoft Powerpoint

Banskt is a great talent. He listens very well, takes direction well, and still puts on a thinking hat. Did I mention not having to relay changes more than once. I would love to work with him again.
